WebAsexual endospores (endoconidia) are not commonly formed, but they have been observed in strains of the genera Trichosporon, Candida, Cryptococcus, Cystofilobasidium and Leucosporidium. Endospores are asexual cells that are formed within single cells and in hyphae, and seem to arise by budding ( Fig. 7.1). WebCryptococcus species are distributed into four orders: Tremellales, Trichosporonales, Filobasidiales and Cystofilobasidiales (Kurtzman et al ., 2011 ). Species isolated from cold environments belong to all these orders.
