Pain that originates from the ear is called primary otalgia, and the most common causes are otitis media and otitis externa. Examination of the ear usually reveals abnormal findings in patients with primary otalgia. WebThe differential diagnoses of acute otitis media (AOM) are based on expert opinion in review articles [Schilder et al, 2016; BMJ Best Practice, 2024].
