WebJan 10, 2024 · Dustymil59 New Member. I've got one Drayton TRV4 head that constantly breaks, I've replaced the head three times, which is costly since you have to buy the whole valve . It breaks where the metal ring joins to the valve body, I've checked and double checked it's fitted ok, not over tightened, same one every time. Problem is the old TRV had the room comfortable set to 3. The TRV 4 seems to need setting to 5 before it achieves the same level, leaving only MAX left. Anything below 5 and there's no flow at all even when the room is chilly.
